ACT Government web site

The ACT Government web site gives plenty of information about how the ACT is governed, services available, and what’s happening in the community. The ACT government provides a mix of services that cover both state and local government responsibilities. Many of the local government services are provided by the Department of Territory and Municipal Services (www.tams.act.gov.au). There’s a section of this web site devoted to Business. The section headed Licences, Permits and Certificates lists useful web sites for the ACT, NSW and Australia. www.act.gov.au

BusinessACT is part of the ACT Department of Economic Development. A range of support and advice is available to support small business. Doing business with the ACT Government

The Buyers and Sellers Information Service (basis), provides a central source of information regarding ACT Government procurement opportunities and other procurement information. Businesses can Register their services online in the Business Directory which lists suppliers of products and services. NSW Women in Business Program

The Women in Business Program helps up-and-coming women business owners expand their business. The Program is managed by the NSW Department of State and Regional Development (DSRD). Women account for a third of all small business operators in NSW and are partners in many family businesses. To harness the potential of these emerging entrepreneurs the NSW Government supports Women in Business mentoring programs, business skills workshops and a regional business program.
